Former Assistant U.S. Attorney for Eastern District of Virginia Jonathan Fahey Joins Holtzman Vogel
Holtzman Vogel Baran Torchinsky and Josefiak PLLC (“Holtzman Vogel”), a nationally recognized law firm specializing in political, regulatory and litigation matters, announced today that Jonathan L. Fahey has joined the firm as a partner in its Washington, D.C. Office. Fahey, with 25 years of experience in high-level corporate and government investigations, white-collar criminal defense, and high-stakes litigation, including serving as an Assistant U.S. Attorney and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia from 2002 to 2019, will join the firm’s Government, Congressional and Corporate Investigations, Appellate, Commercial Litigation, and Constitutional Law teams.

Fahey began his career as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Arlington County Circuit Court. He then worked as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in Fairfax County before transitioning to the United States Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of Virginia.
While with the United States Attorney’s Office, Fahey led grand jury investigations in cases involving RICO, drug trafficking, human trafficking, public corruption, and white-collar offenses. He held several leadership positions within the office, including serving as the Chief of the Special Assistant United States Attorney Section, where he trained and supervised attorneys in the prosecution of felony and misdemeanor cases. He also regularly conducted training for law enforcement agencies on legal and ethical issues.

In addition to his work as a criminal prosecutor, Fahey has significant leadership experience within the executive branch of the U.S. government. He served as General Counsel for the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Department of Homeland Security, as well as Acting Principal Legal Advisor and Acting Director for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Fahey earned his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law and his B.S. from James Madison University.
