Holtzman Vogel Legal Victory Ensures Arizonians Will Decide on Proposition 138 in November Elections
Holtzman Vogel attorneys, led by partner Andrew Gould, delivered a favorable outcome for the Arizona Restaurant Association effectively blocking efforts by Raise the Wage AZ to remove Senate Concurrent Resolution 1040 from appearing on the November General Election Ballot.
Known as the Tipped Workers Protection Act, the proposed constitutional amendment would ensure that tipped workers will receive at least the current minimum wage. It will appear on the ballot under the name Proposition 138.
“Holtzman Vogel is proud to defend the right of Arizonians to voice their opinion on this important matter. The proposed amendment, SCR 1040, protects the jobs of tipped workers while allowing the businesses that employ them to survive financially. This is a victory for the people of Arizona against anti-business politics,” said Gould.
The Holtzman Vogel team, led by Gould, a former Arizona Supreme Court Justice, and included Brennan Bowen and Oliver Roberts, utilized their extensive expertise in election law to secure another favorable outcome for their client.
