Holtzman Vogel Welcomes New York State Election Law Expert Joseph Burns
Holtzman Vogel Baran Torchinsky and Josefiak PLLC (“Holtzman Vogel”), a nationally recognized law firm specializing in government and corporate compliance matters, election law, commercial litigation, and white-collar investigations, announced today that Joseph Burns has joined the firm. Burns brings two decades of experience representing candidates and party committees in campaign finance and election law, investigations, litigation, and regulatory matters in New York.

Before joining the firm, Burns served as Deputy Director of Election Operations at the New York State Board of Elections, overseeing the transition to optical scan voting and handling legal proceedings.

His experience includes serving as an attorney for the Erie County and New York State Republican Committees and working with candidates for various public offices. Burns also held roles as Deputy Administrative Director and Secretary for the Erie County Water Authority. A dedicated member of the Western New York Community, he has served as vice chair of the Erie County Charter Revision Commission and as a member of the Erie County Advisory Commission on Reapportionment.
Burns earned his J.D. from Albany Law School and a Bachelor of Arts from Syracuse University.
