John Cycon

Senior Associate

Prior to joining Holtzman Vogel, John was a senior associate at a large firm in New York City and the District of Columbia, where he represented companies, boards of directors, and individuals in various high stakes enforcement and litigation matters. During that time, John’s experience with complex financial transactions and multifaceted investigations helped clients successfully resolve cases with the Department of Justice, Securities and Exchange Commission, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, and Commodity Futures Trading Commission, as well as civil lawsuits in state and federal courts. Before law school John was a New York City Teaching Fellow, where he taught special education students in a high needs school.

John graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a B.A. from the Program of Liberal Studies. He earned his M.S. in Urban Education from Mercy College during his teaching fellowship, and achieved a J.D. with Distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law, where he also received Boyd Service Award Honors. While in law school, he was a Contributing Editor on the Iowa Law Review and a research assistant for the National Health Law and Policy Resource Center. John also clerked for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa for over two years.
